About Me
Dr. Aditya started his medical education at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum affiliated to the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. During his under-graduation, he was actively involved in the Students’ Association and was instrumental in organising many curricular and co-curricular activities in the college. He was the recipient of many awards including one for securing the highest score in the subject of Medicine in 2009. After completing his MBBS, he went on to train in General Surgery at the same college. While working as a post-graduate in General Surgery, he developed a keen interest in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and decided pursue this field.
Dr. Aditya commenced his training in Plastic surgery in the renowned Sawai Man Singh Government Medical College, Jaipur where he had the opportunity to work extensively and gain exposure in all the various aspects of Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Aditya has also been awarded the prestigious MRCS (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK).
Shortly after finishing his MCh in Plastic Surgery, Dr. Aditya chose to continue working in Jaipur and at Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai for a brief duration before starting his journey to further acquire and hone his skills over the next 2 years.
Dr. Aditya visited Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore where he worked closely with Dr. S Raja Sabapathy to polish his skills and knowledge in hand surgery and microvascular surgery. He then travelled to Taiwan, where he worked with Dr. Fu Chan Wei at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taipei. Prof. Wei is widely considered as the Father of Modern Reconstructive Microsurgery and was the first to describe the ‘free fibula osteo-septo-cutaneous flap’ which is a standard of care for mandibular reconstructions today. Dr. Aditya had the unique opportunity of working and interacting with Prof. Wei which sparked his interest in this field.
Dr. Aditya worked with internationally renowned celebrity Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr. Milan Doshi at Mumbai where he rediscovered his love for the art of aesthetic surgery. Dr. Aditya also completed his fellowship in Hair Transplant Surgery (FUT & FUE) while working with Dr. Suneet Soni at Jaipur.
Dr. Aditya was selected for an International Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery in Germany awarded by the Dutch Association of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (DAFPRS), where he undertook advanced training in Aesthetic Surgery at Dreifaltigkeits-Krankenhaus, Cologne. Here, he worked and trained under his mentor, Dr. Dirk Richter, then President of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) and further sharpened/polished his skills in Body Contouring and Facial Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Aditya also travelled to Sweden where he worked with another legend in the field of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Per Heden at Akademikliniken, Stockholm.
He then returned to India and commenced his private practice at Bangalore. Dr. Aditya is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Sagar Hospitals, Jayanagar and is also actively involved in reconstruction of cancer sufferers at HCG Cancer Hospitals for more than 2 years.
He regularly attends plastic surgery conferences to keep abreast of the latest developments in the specialty and has published a number of scientific papers.
Having spent his childhood in towns in Maharashtra and Karnataka, he is well conversant in the regional languages - Kannada and Marathi.
Dr. Aditya is registered with the Karnataka Medical Council, India and also with the General Medical Council, UK. He is an active member of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI) and Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (IAAPS).
